About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: RRT or CRT Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Epic experience required Adult Critical Care experience Weekend coverage every other week Description: Please ensure the traveler is aware that upon accepting an assignment and starting their role, the unit manager may assign them to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details regarding pay will be communicated during each emergency event. By signing the travel contract, the traveler accepts the above terms and agrees to report as directed by the unit manager in case of an emergency event. Travelers should not apply for this role if they are not comfortable with these expectations. Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require traveler coverage during that time. Holiday assignments will be based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation. Experience with Level 3 NICU is a plus, but NICU experience is not required. If willing to rotate in NICU, NRP credential is needed. Patient populations serviced include neonates, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Candidates must have required certifications, and pediatric care will only be handled in the emergency department. Additional skills required include extubation, intubation assist, and tracheostomy care/management. Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation are also essential skills for this role. Weekend coverage and a patient ratio of 1:4 are expected. Travelers must be over 65 miles from the facility and have 2 years of experience in the specialty for submission. References are not required for submission but will be needed for clearance to start. Travelers must have a valid license upon submission. As part of the hiring process, certain certifications are mandatory before starting the assignment.
