RN Outpatient Dialysis

The Registered Nurse in the Outpatient Dialysis unit is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatments. This role involves utilizing the nursing process, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, administering medications and treatments, documenting care, and developing individualized patient care plans. The RN ensures patient safety and quality care, participates in performance improvement activities, and provides clinical guidance to support the patient's longitudinal care. Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and state laws.
• Document patient care accurately according to standards of care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy.
• Provide patient and family instruction related to care and treatment.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement and shared governance activities.
• Offer clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments to support patient care plans.
• Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.

• Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin.
• AHA Provider Level BLS certification.
• AHA Provider Level ACLS certification.
• Ability to administer medications and treatments in compliance with nursing standards and state laws.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Less than 1 year experience acceptable; clinical expertise required.

• Experience in dialysis or outpatient nursing care.
• Knowledge of performance improvement and shared governance processes.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Work in an outpatient dialysis environment requiring adherence to strict infection control and patient safety protocols.
• May involve participation in on-call or flexible scheduling depending on unit needs.

• 36-hour workweek in outpatient dialysis setting.
• Shift assignments determined by department scheduling policies.
