Homer's Ice Cream and Restaurant has been a beloved Chicagoland institution for over 90 years and is renowned for its award-winning, super-premium ice cream. This family-owned business with a new generation of leadership is expanding its iconic brand. We are currently seeking motivated individuals interested in career advancement opportunities as we embark on this exciting journey of growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has proven management experience, values integrity, and wants to help guide a team in delivering the legendary Homer's experience every day.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and train employees in product preparation, store appearance and customer service.
• Assist with inventory control, ordering supplies and managing food costs.
• Hold team members accountable to high service standards and company policies.
• Regularly inspect the work of the team to verify that assignments are being completed with consistency and accuracy.
• Manage a team that consistently exceeds customer expectations.
• Communicate policy variances to senior management as soon as they are discovered.
• Be open, honest and respectful with the team to improve their performance.
• Work to become the knowledge expert on all store operations.
• Be an example of excellence to fellow team members and customers.
• Ability to obtain a food service sanitation certificate within 30 days of hire.
• Follow all food safety practices.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a leadership position, directly supervising staff.
• Availability for day, evening and weekend shifts.
• Flexible and adaptable to learning new practices.
• Passion for helping others (customers and team members).
• Responds with a sense of urgency.
• Values integrity and is committed to doing the right thing.
