Well, you're in the right place! A well-established, locally owned home furnishings retailer is hiring a Retail Sales Professional to join its team in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Key Details:

• Pay: $7,000 per month guaranteed for your first 3 months while you train, then straight commission. Expect to earn $100,000+ in your first year. Most of our sales team earns $150,000 to $200,000 a year.
• Benefits: 100% employer-paid health insurance for the employee, a SIMPLE IRA with the largest company match the law allows, 2 weeks paid vacation, 1 week paid sick time, and the option to take 2 more weeks unpaid.
• Location: Lake Oswego, Oregon
• Schedule:  Full-time, 5 days a week including every weekend, with 2 consecutive weekdays off. We close at 6 pm Monday through Saturday and 5 pm Sunday, all year, and we mean it.

A dedicated customer service team handles follow-up calls, purchase orders, parts, and the details that come after the sale, allowing the sales team to stay focused on customers rather than paperwork. What they share is strong sales ability and a genuine interest in furniture and design.

Who You Are:

You're a sales professional, not just someone passing through retail. You know how to uncover what a customer is really trying to accomplish, build trust, and confidently guide them to the right solution. You're comfortable asking for the sale and understand that not every conversation ends with a purchase. Rejection doesn't discourage you because you know success is a numbers game.

You enjoy becoming an expert in what you sell and can translate product knowledge into confidence for your customers. Most importantly, you take pride in your professionalism. You show up polished, prepared, and ready to deliver a high-end experience because you understand your customers are making meaningful investments and expect to work with someone who knows their craft.

Other qualifications include:

• Sales experience: 5 + years in a relevant and similar sales position
• Client-facing background: Experience selling in a setting where customers come to you and weekends are the busy days.
• Communication: Active listening, a consultative approach, and professional written and verbal communication.
• Product commitment: Willingness to study our brands and keep learning as new products hit the floor. Our manufacturers train our team regularly.
• Technical Skills: You're comfortable with the numbers side of the business and can confidently navigate the systems that keep orders, customer information, and follow-up on track. You don't need to be a tech expert, but you're comfortable learning new software and using it accurately every day.

What You'll Do:

You'll work the showroom floor, which means everything from a customer walking in with a photo on their phone to a full room laid out in 3D in the fabric they picked. Most of what we sell is custom, so your job runs from the first conversation through design, fabric selection, and configuration.

A typical day will consist of:

• Greeting customers on the floor, finding out what they're trying to solve, and guiding them to the right pieces without pressure.
• Planning rooms with customers: taking dimensions, laying out the space, sending fabric samples home, and configuring custom pieces before anything is ordered.
• Building a repeat client base through follow-up, appointments, and referrals.
• Learning our brands in depth and eventually training the rest of the team on them.
• Working with our office team on paperwork, payments, and delivery scheduling.
