Job Title

Evaluate, treat and manage adult and pediatric patients in an inpatient hospital setting. Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans in accordance with statutes, regulations and protocols. Provide phone consultation to pediatric-trained attendings for management of the adult patients on the census. Receive guidance from pediatricians when covering pediatric patients on the census. Collaborate with nurses, APPs, ancillary staff, respiratory therapists, social worker, case manager and those positions on the clinical team. Work with families/loved ones to provide health services, education, counseling and emotional support. Issue and manage medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines. Order laboratory tests, interpret and explain test results. Provide education regarding medications, risks, benefits and reasonable outcome expectations. Communicate with residents and engage in follow-up as necessary. Supervise clinical providers (APPs, Nurses) and provide performance feedback in all aspects of clinical functions. Continually review current standards of care and work with leadership team to implement new processes as needed.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. New Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residency graduates are encouraged to apply. Active New York State medical license, or the ability to obtain one prior to employment. One to two years of Adult Hospitalist experience preferred, but not required.

Graduation from an accredited medical school. Completion of a US residency program in internal medicine or med-peds. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
