The Pharmacy Procurement Coordinator II manages daily purchasing activities to ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of medications and pharmacy supplies. The role processes orders, monitors wholesaler inventory, resolves routine purchasing issues, and maintains accurate procurement records. It collaborates with vendors and internal stakeholders to optimize procurement processes and support patient care, and works with attention to detail, regulatory compliance, and alignment with formulary and operational needs. Essential Functions Process daily medication and supply orders through the pharmacy wholesaler and approved manufacturers; monitor wholesaler inventory, contract pricing, and product availability to ensure timely fulfillment; track backorders, product shortages, and allocation limits, communicating updates to pharmacy leadership and operational teams; verify order accuracy, resolve routine discrepancies, and coordinate returns or credits as needed; ensure compliance with purchasing contracts, policies, regulations, and accreditation standards; maintain purchasing records, invoices, and documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements; support cost-effective purchasing by identifying contract-compliant products and alternatives; collaborate with inventory staff to align purchasing with par levels, usage trends, and storage capacity; work collaboratively with pharmacy staff to forecast, triage and manage drug/supply shortages to ensure continuity of patient care; assist with formulary updates, product transitions, and medication recalls by coordinating procurement activities; and use procurement software and inventory systems to track orders and expediteures. Career growth and development Diverse and collaborative working environment Competitive Benefits Package Tuition Assistance Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required Completion of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred 2+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Maryland required Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) certification required Salary Range: Minimum $23.35/hour – Maximum $38.54/hour.
