The Marathon Detroit Michigan Refinery has openings for Maintenance Craftsperson/Pipe Welder – 6G Pipe, GTAW and SMAW. Pay and Benefits $43.77 per hour with scheduled annual increases. Company-sponsored annual bonus up to 6% of eligible wages. 401(k) with company match up to 7% and Central States Pension Plan. Paid vacation, sick and holidays. Paid parental leave. Key Responsibilities Maintain and repair refinery equipment, including process units, tank farms, buildings and yards. Complete routine paperwork and work orders regarding the repair of process equipment. Work schedule: 4/10s, Monday–Thursday, 7:00am to 5:30pm, with mandatory overtime as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. A valid driver’s license required. Previous qualification to weld carbon steel pipe with GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (stick) processes. Qualification to similar MPC Welding Procedures per ASME SectionIX requirements. Pass Marathon’s written test and hands‑on skill demonstration test. Ability to wear appropriate PPE and physically perform job duties in an outdoor process facility under the Maintenance Department. Participation in pre‑employment assessment, background check and drug/alcohol/medical screening. NCCCO Fixed Cab Certification required within 9months of starting date, if not already held.
