Senior Manager, Operations Support

The Senior Manager, Operations Support is responsible for driving operational excellence and enabling continuous improvement across field operations. This role leads the planning, coordination, and execution of initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness, decision-making, and digital transformation. Working closely with the Director of Operations Support, this position develops and implements standards, processes, and management routines that improve performance and sustainability. Key responsibilities include resource management, process optimization, technology adoption, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver measurable results.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day management of operations support initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
• Drive timelines, deliverables, and coordination across business teams and stakeholders for workshops, working sessions, and project milestones.
• Oversee requirements gathering, solution testing, deployment, and adoption for operational improvements and digital platforms.
• Support communication strategies to ensure clarity and engagement across areas and sites.
• Manage core and extended project teams, including resource allocation, task assignment, and performance tracking.
• Provide feedback on deliverables and ensure quality standards are met.
• Monitor progress against key milestones and adjust plans as needed to meet objectives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and local site leadership to identify operational challenges, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Drive skill development for field operations employees.
• Support area teams in prioritizing and resolving operational issues through robust processes and durable solutions.
• Adapt to changing business priorities and lead initiatives that respond to evolving needs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications:

• Ability to travel up to 50%, sometimes on short notice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital tools supporting operational platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and process improvement.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to engage and influence all levels of management.
• Proven leadership experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams and complex projects.
• Collaborative and cross-functional approach; ability to develop and influence others.
• Skilled in setting and achieving key milestones, goals, and objectives while adapting to changing conditions.
• Positive outlook with ability to lead large project teams effectively.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related field(s).
• Demonstrated success in large-scale process improvement and technology implementation initiatives.

This position is a hybrid role based at Republic Service's headquarters in Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid is 4-days per week onsite, and 1-day remote. This position will not be eligible to be fully remote.
