Quality Inspector

Assures conformance to specifications by verifying electrical/mechanical parts dimensionally, functionally and/or visually per established procedures, i.e. flatness, parallelism, concentricity, ohms, volts, amps.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of:

• Blueprints and military specifications.
• Inspection tools and test equipment (i.e. coordinated measuring machine, optical comparator, Positive Material Identification (PMI), fixed or special gauges and/or test equip. and fixtures).
• Skills to perform basic set-up, Basic math skills, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles, Electrical principles.
• Monitors the MRB area and processes rejected material, utilizing the Oracle Quality Module, in accordance with established procedures.
• Takes initiative in updating inspection procedures, dispositioning of defective materials and resolving problems with parts received.
• Provides training as necessary.
• Performs first piece inspection on mechanical/electrical parts or assemblies.
• Employs SPC techniques and takes appropriate action.
• Takes initiative and participates as necessary to make improvement.
• Performs source inspection and process audits as required.
• May assist in calibration, inventory control and maintenance of controlled gauges, instruments and tooling specified by standards.
• Attend required training for American Society for Quality (ASQ) CMI and/or IPC 610 testing.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as required.
