Field Service Technician

Job TitleOnsite Calibration TechnicianJob DescriptionTo provide onsite calibration of test equipment for customers between our Los Alimatos, CA and Fullerton, CA locations. Also, will have the opportunity to support the local Transcat laboratory when not traveling.ResponsibilitiesMajor areas of responsibility include:Calibrating measurement and test equipment (M&TE) to manufacturers specificationsDetermining out of tolerance conditions for customer M&TE and calibration standardsProviding corrective action (i.e., adjustments, minor repairs) for out of tolerance conditionsUpdating and maintaining proper documentation of servicesProviding customers with information regarding other services and new equipment provided by TranscatMaintaining calibration standardsProviding feedback and updates regarding calibration practices and proceduresProficiency in submitting and updating required paperwork for travel and administrative purposesOther duties as assignedTravel requirements include:Combination of local travel, using company vehicle, and overnight travel, as neededRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesRequired knowledge, skills, and abilities include:Calibration experience and/or equivalent training with commercial and/or biomedical measurement and test equipment (M&TE)Self-motivator requiring little or no supervisionCustomer service orientedAbility to interact with customers & coworkers in a professional mannerProficiency with MS Office and the internet; familiarity with basic database functionality3+ years driving experience with a valid driver's license and acceptable driver historyComfortable driving in all climatesEducation and experience include:Associate degree from college or technical school; or 2-5 years of related field experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired Experience/SkillsMilitary PMEL trainingStrong attention to detail - able to follow written instructions.Ability to plan and prioritize diversified workload and work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent verbal and written communication skills.QualificationsPhysical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
