This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a diverse caseload of students with multiple disabilities, including Autism, in a collaborative and well-resourced school near Emporia, VA.

Your experience and commitment to supporting students with special needs will shine as you guide learners toward academic and personal growth. The assignment runs through June 2027, offering stability as you build lasting relationships and create a nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Strong background working with Autism and multiple disabilities
• Previous experience in a self-contained classroom setting preferred
• Experience managing an elementary caseload
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for helping every student reach their fullest potential

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging instruction tailored to students’ unique learning needs
• Adapt curriculum and modify teaching strategies to enhance accessibility and inclusion
• Assess student performance and document progress
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to develop comprehensive educational programs
• Foster a positive and structured classroom environment where all students feel safe and supported
