Job Title Respiratory Therapist III – Respiratory Care (Job Number2200628) Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine, Respiratory Therapists are valuable members of the team. Respiratory Care is an allied health specialty focused on diagnostic cardiopulmonary evaluation and respiratory therapy treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies or abnormalities. The role includes patient, family, and public education. Qualified candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work at all organizational levels. Responsibilities All Respiratory Care Practitioners work under the supervision of the Director and/or the Associate Director(s) of the Department. Responsibilities include performing basic and advanced respiratory procedures such as: Intubation Arterial puncture and blood gas analysis Mechanical ventilator management for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in areas such as Surgical, Medical, Burn, Pediatric, Neonatal, Cardiac Surgery, and Anesthesia Post‑Op Intensive Care Units Other respiratory therapy and patient‑care duties as required Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy Certificate of completion from an approved therapist‑level Respiratory Therapy Program Registered Respiratory Therapist 0–1 year experience Current NYS Therapist License required by NYS Law Pre‑employment Requirements Successful completion of a pre‑employment physical examination and medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services Electronic reference check with at least three professional references Successful completion of a 4‑panel drug screen Meet regulatory requirements for pre‑employment screenings Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s) or certificate(s) Anticipated Pay Range The starting salary range for this position is $100,674 – $122,721. All UUP positions include an additional $3,087 for location. Some positions offer shift differentials for Night ($15,000) and Evening ($10,000) as well as an $575 inconvenience allowance for positions not on day shift. #J-18808-Ljbffr
