About the Role As a Registered Dental Hygienist at Cambridge Dental Center, you will perform comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on oral health, and collaborate closely with dentists and other dental professionals in a modern, academically driven clinical environment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current health status to tailor personalized care plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment while adhering to infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventative care, and treatment options to promote long-term oral health. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient experience. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) in systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while remaining compliant with HIPAA standards. Manage infection control procedures, including sterilization of instruments and maintenance of aseptic techniques. Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after treatment while ensuring patient comfort. Support the clinical team with chairside assisting duties as needed. Uphold patient confidentiality and protect medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Experience in general dentistry required; pediatric dentistry experience preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and oral healthcare principles. Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Expertise in infection prevention, sterilization protocols, and healthcare compliance standards. Ability to perform dental radiography procedures while maintaining patient safety. Excellent communication and patient education skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Knowledge of dental coding and documentation practices. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
