As a Transportation Specialist at the HOPE Center, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. Job Responsibilities Under general supervision, the Transportation Specialist provides professional customer service while safely transporting clients and/or packages to designated locations in a timely manner. Responsibilities include planning efficient routes, maintaining schedules, supporting administrative pickup and delivery needs, ensuring vehicle readiness and maintenance, and maintaining accurate mileage and service records while interacting professionally with internal and external customers. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Transport clients and/or packages to and from destinations. Arrive at destinations on schedule. Fulfill administrative needs, like office pickups. Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays. Use navigation applications to determine the best route. Always maintain professional and courteous communication with clients. Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use. Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date mileage and vehicle maintenance records. Perform additional duties as assigned. Responsibilities and essential functions may change to meet organizational needs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED and six (6) months of experience in the operation of heavy equipment and large vehicles such as bulldozers, frontend loaders, ditchers, road graders, dump trucks, drilling equipment, and heavy-duty trucks or position equivalent. Note: Candidates selected for further consideration will be required to submit a seven (7)-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)/Driving History Report before an offer of employment is made. To be eligible for employment, the MVR must show no major traffic violations, license suspensions, or at-fault accidents within the past seven (7) years.
