Title
Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Schedule
- Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Days) or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Nights)
- Weekend expectation: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.

Assignment Details
- Contract Length: Not specified
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Experience: Preferred 2 years of cardiac ICU/CVICU experience
- EMR: Epic experience required
- Skills:
- Hemodynamic monitoring: Swan-Ganz/PA lines, arterial lines
- Mechanical support: IABP, balloon pumps, Impella, VADs, ECMO
- Respiratory: Ventilator management, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP
- Procedures/lines: IV starts, central/PICC care, chest tube management, temporary pacemakers
- Sedation/monitoring: Conscious/procedural sedation, titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the CVICU.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and hemodynamic status, interpreting data to guide treatment.
- Administer medications and IV fluids as ordered, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-operative care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety standards.

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Vaccines: Flu required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Licensure: RN must have valid compact or state license at the time of submission
- Fingerprinting: Completion required immediately upon booking
- One pre-approved time off allowed; no call
- Travelers will be required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed.
