HVAC Service Technician (Chicago, IL)

Job Title Title: HVAC Service Technician Location: Chicago, IL Department: Service Reports to: Owner/Service Manager Salary: Pay is between $25-32 depending on experience. Employment Type: Full time Position Details: This is a non-management position. Department: Commercial. Company vehicle provided for service request completion. Job Summary Provide maintenance and repair service on residential heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards. Diagnose, assess, and repair issues with furnaces and/or boilers. Heat pumps are a plus but not required. Minimum Requirements Minimum 1-3 years of residential maintenance and repair. Qualifications Have general knowledge of HVAC residential equipment Valid clean driver’s license, clear background and drug test Universal EPA certification within 3 months of employment Ability to operate power and hand tools Willingness to invest in tools used in the service of HVAC equipment Have basic HVAC tools a plus Willingness to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call Willingness to invest time in training and development Ability to record work order details including action taken or needed Demonstrate mechanical aptitude Ability to explain, recommend, and answer customer’s questions with confidence Prioritize and manage daily workload to ensure successful completion Strong interpersonal skills Energetic personality Ability to work independently Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
