Applicants must meet this requirement to be considered for this position. Position Criminal Division of the Alaska Department of Law is recruiting for a Paralegal 1 located in Fairbanks, Alaska. What You Will Be Doing In your role as a Paralegal, you will help members in the community who are directly impacted by crime, assist victims and witnesses to understand their rights, and navigate them through the criminal justice system. You will provide updates throughout the life of a case, inform them of available resources, and play a key role in the prosecution team by working with law enforcement, court personnel, and victim advocates. Qualifications Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in the areas above. Post‑secondary and/or vocational education in a legal or legal support area and experience preparing, reviewing, or processing legal documents (affidavits, court reports, discovery requests, etc.) is typically required. Additional requirements may include obtaining a Notary Public upon hire and passing a criminal background check for access to criminal record networks.
