Lead HVAC Mechanic

Department: Facilities Operations forSS Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education Description Inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance tovarious heating and air conditioning systems. Pursuant to the Stateof Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, workson, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires theability to maintain the security or integrity of the Universityinfrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinelyreviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuousconnections for the government or political apparatus of a foreignadversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintainthe security or integrity of the infrastructure. 1. Inspects the operation of HVAC systems and assigns orperforms preventative maintenance schedules. 2. Assigns and inspects completed work and work in progress. 3. Provides technical direction to other HVAC mechanics. 4. May perform emergency repairs when necessary. 5. May be required to work special assignments duringemergencies. 6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuationand simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. asmight normally be acquired through attainment of a high schooldiploma or GED. Education verification will be conducted uponacceptance of an employment offer. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-relatedexperience. Requires technical certification or licensing directlyrelated to the job, as specified on a job description addendum.
