Registered Nurse Operating Room (OR RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our surgical services team in Roseville, CA. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional perioperative nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care throughout the surgical process. This role requires expertise in circulating and/or scrubbing procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Function as a Circulating RN and assist with scrubbing responsibilities as needed.
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and verify surgical consents, documentation, and safety protocols.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention and AORN standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, initiate and maintain IV access, and provide perioperative patient education.
• Accurately document patient care, surgical procedures, and clinical interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time Operating Room RN experience.
• Experience in perioperative nursing and circulating during surgical procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
• 35 years of Operating Room experience with both circulating and scrubbing responsibilities.
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification preferred.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with Pre-Op patient care.
• Strong IV start and vascular access skills.
• Experience with orthopedic, general, spine, vascular, robotic, and other specialty surgical procedures preferred.
