POSITION SUMMARY The Mechanic Helper position will be tasked with de-icing snowcats and snowmobiles, keeping the shop clean, and assisting the mechanics. Must have a valid driver’s license. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Responsible for de-icing snowcats and snowmobiles for daily maintenance Assisting mechanics with special and on-going projects Moving equipment in and out of maintenance shop Responsible for keeping the maintenance shop neat and clean Responsible for assisting mechanic’s on servicing ATV’s, shuttle buses, snowmobiles, light vehicles and grooming equipment Shift changes as necessary and may work either evening or day shift as required by management Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Adhere to all safety policies Expected to work in inclement weather conditions Must have steel toed shoes2 years of previous work history/education required Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company’s Service Excellence standards EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED equivalent The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits. Steamboat Resort hourly pay range: $22.50-25.50 per hour PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be a minimum 18 years of age Must use a power washer for long period of times (with power washer pressure between 2500-3500 PSI) Must stand for long periods of time Must bend over for long periods of time Must work under and on equipment on uneven surfaces Must have excellent verbal and written skills Must have a valid driver's license and meet insurability standards The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
