As a Host / Expo , you’re part greeter, part traffic controller, part backstage coordinator—and a major part of what keeps the show running smoothly. Whether you’re welcoming guests or ensuring dishes hit the table with perfection, you set the tone for service and help create a truly memorable experience. About the Role: This is a hybrid role where you’ll work both front‑of‑house (as Host) and back‑of‑house (as Expo) depending on the shift and restaurant needs. It’s perfect for someone who’s organized, detail‑oriented, people‑savvy, and wants to learn both sides of restaurant operations. Key Responsibilities: As Host: Warmly greet and seat guests with a friendly and professional attitude Manage reservations and waitlists using digital tools (OpenTable or similar) Keep the dining room flow smooth by coordinating table turns with servers and managers Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area Be the first and last impression for every guest—make it a great one! As Expo (Expeditor): Act as the final checkpoint between kitchen and table—checking for accuracy, presentation, and timing Communicate clearly between BOH (kitchen) and FOH (servers) to ensure smooth service Organize and prioritize tickets to help keep the kitchen running on time Assist in packaging takeout and delivery orders as needed Keep expo station clean, stocked, and running efficiently What We’re Looking For: Excellent communication and multitasking skills Friendly, approachable, and confident under pressure A sharp eye for detail—especially when checking plates before they hit the table Previous experience in host or expo roles is a plus, but we’ll train the right person Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Must be 16+ to host, and 18+ to work expo (due to proximity to kitchen and alcohol service) Why Join Team Tuna?
