Patient Care Associate - The James Operating Room (Full-Time)

Job Overview The Patient Care Associate (PCA) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, reflecting a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the Registered Nurse and the Patient Care Associate, provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards the achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, and reducing costs. Patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient‑focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. Responsibilities Provide patient care and supportive services directed toward patient care outcomes and involvement in their own care plans. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED preferred. Previous patient care experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred. Strong customer service, organizational and time management skills. Successful completion of PCA training course required after hire. Position Schedule This position is scheduled as 8-, 10-, or 12‑hour shifts between 6:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
