Senior Systems Engineer

Systems EngineerNextGen's practice in Digital Engineering (DE) is growing. This role will drive the design, and integration of complex systems using advanced models and tightly coupled software toolchains. This role bridges architecture planning and development to ensure a seamless "digital thread" from concept through production. Selected engineers will collaborate with fellow colleagues to solve complex technical tasks while becoming experts with and deploying cutting edge modeling and analysis tools.ResponsibilitiesWork on a cross-functional team to develop cutting edge software solutions for DoD mission critical programs of recordEnable/support development of automation capabilities and tying the Digital ThreadDefine, design, and deliver bounded tool adapters to connect tools, data and simulation products, and user workflowsWork within an Agile Project Management framework and DevSecOps cultureCollaborate with stakeholders including customers, teammates and partnersArchitect connected ecosystems (DevSecOps pipelines) to enable continuous, automated data exchangeEnsure requirements trace accurately across hardware, software, and test environments to create a single source of truthImplement adapters and Command and Control (C2)/LVC interfaces, and integrate Government off the Shelf (GOTS) LVC toolsIntegrate third-party tool adapters; including software libraries, command line applications/plug-ins, and desktop applications/plug-insSupport scenario creation, LVC orchestration and real-time monitoring of simulationQualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar5+ years leading projects employing Digital/Systems EngineeringSolid understanding of systems lifecycle processesAbility to develop systems deliverables, to include requirements, CONOPs, APIs, IDD/ICDs, SDDs, test plans/proceduresAbility to work closely with software engineers to evolve the systems architectureAbility to analyze problems with a flexible and creative approach, manage complex tasks and adapt to rapidly changing requirementsAbility to learn new technologies rapidly and implement in a dynamic environmentVerbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and customer-facing skillsCurrent DoD Top Secret/SCI clearanceAbout NextGenNextGen Federal Systems is an innovative technology and professional services provider specializing in advanced software solutions and comprehensive mission and business support services.
