About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director who is deeply passionate about the power of music, culture, and community. The successful candidate will be a strategic, operational, and community leader, responsible for advancing the organization's mission to preserve, present, and promote traditional music and culture. This role involves curating and booking high-quality artistic programming, expanding the organization's reach through various events and partnerships, and strengthening and diversifying revenue streams. The Executive Director will also serve as the chief ambassador and storyteller, overseeing organizational operations, budgeting, and financial management, and ensuring the organization remains a welcoming, community-centered entity. Key attributes and skillsets for the Executive Director include being a relationship-savvy builder and ambassador of the mission, with a strong knowledge of traditional music forms. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and entrepreneurial leader, capable of balancing artistic vision with operational and financial realities. Experience in nonprofit, arts, cultural, festival, or entertainment environments is preferred, along with a proven track record in fundraising and revenue development. The role requires strong financial management skills, the ability to lead a small, collaborative staff, and a commitment to the values of education, participation, and intergenerational learning. The Executive Director will be instrumental in shaping the future of the organization, honoring its legacy, and expanding its impact across communities and generations.
