Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for data centre construction and expansion projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
• Oversee daily operations of the data centre, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, and facilities management, to align project goals with organizational objectives.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve overall performance.
• Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential challenges in construction and operations.
• Prepare and present regular reports on project progress, operational metrics, and financial performance to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations throughout all phases of construction and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
• Proven experience in operations management, with a focus on data centre environments and construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling, and network systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects, budgets, and timelines effectively.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, such as Uptime Institute Tier Standards and ASHRAE guidelines.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Day-to-Day

• Oversee the daily operations of the data centre, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally and addressing any issues promptly.
• Coordinate with project teams to monitor construction progress, resolve challenges, and ensure milestones are met.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Manage and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with stakeholders to provide updates on project status and operational performance.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, optimize processes, and implement improvements.
