We are seeking a Senior Product Quality Manager to join our Supply Chain team in San Francisco, California. This role sits at the intersection of Oura Manufacturing, R&D, and Supply Chain, partnering closely with design, process engineering, operations, and contract manufacturers (CMs) to drive the successful development and ramp of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.You will champion product quality and the user experience by ensuring every ring meets Oura’s rigorous standards for health accuracy, reliability, and jewelry-like craftsmanship. You will establish and improve quality systems at CMs, ensuring robust data collection and analysis to support critical program decisions and long-term supply chain improvements.From concept through high-volume production, you will develop and implement measurement methods, control plans, and quality processes that ensure components and assemblies are manufacturable, scalable, and consistently meet product requirements. You will serve as a key liaison between Oura and our manufacturing partners, fostering a strong culture of quality across the supply chain.Working closely with Operations and Program Management, you will plan and execute NPI builds while continuously influencing both product and process development. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and the ability to translate quality requirements into scalable manufacturing solutions.This is a US Hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an in-office requirement of three days per week, and will require significant travel to Finland and Asia.What You Will Do:Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through FATP development builds, ramp-up, and product launch / mass productionServe as the bridge between Design, Engineering, and Operations, translating complex technical risks into actionable business decisions to drive Oura’s quality initiativesAnalyze build failure data to identify design and process marginalities, ensuring that yield loss is understood from a quality risk perspective, not just a volume perspectiveLead build readiness reviews, focusing on quality deliverables such as equipment readiness, process qualification, and post-build quality data analysis to understand system level interactions and assembly tolerance stackups that drive design and process improvementsEstablish and enforce the standard for “premium” quality by defining cosmetic specifications, managing golden/limit samples, and aligning design, engineering, and factory teams on subjective criteria (fit, finish, and feel) early in the NPI process.Identify and effectively communicate design and process risks, using data-driven approaches to facilitate discussions and improvements across Oura teams and suppliersAnalyze and evaluate data to establish appropriate sub-assembly / system level spec limits including cosmetic, dimensional, functional/reliability as well as establish process controls limitsValidate that CM processes produce units that meet cosmetic, reliability, and functional design intent.You are a technical leader who refuses to compromise on the user experience. You understand that “shippable” isn't just about passing a functional test, but about meeting the high aesthetic and reliability standards our customers expect.What you'll bring7+ years of experience working in a Product Quality, Supplier Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality Engineer, or Process Engineer role. Ideally seeking someone with strong mechanical process development and design understandingExperience in System Integration environments (FATP), bringing together mechanical enclosures and electronics into a final finished product.Experience with quality engineering in high volume hand held / wearable and/or consumer products manufacturing with high cosmetic standardsExperience qualifying and auditing manufacturing processes including PSA/HAF attach, epoxy dispense/molding/curing, and solder/hotbar/laser weldExperience developing robust IQC / IPQC / OQC controls, including AOI & cosmetics, sampling plans, qualification criteria, SOP/MSOP, CQA, OBA, and dimensional controlUnderstanding of quality principles and tools such as GRR, CRR, SPC, FA/CA, FMEA, and DOEs.Understanding of manufacturing/design principles and tools such as DFM, GD&T, and Six Sigma methodologies for variability reductionA self-driven mindset, and are an eager problem solver who thrives in demanding quick-paced environmentsHigh organizational skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts through presentations and written communication, such as slide decks and emailAbility to set up systems to capture reliable and meaningful data to help drive critical process improvements and enhance product/component designWillingness and eagerness to travel internationally up to 50%BenefitsAt Ōura, we care about you and your well-being.
