The organization is a member of the Community Partners Loan Pool (CPLP) with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, enabling access to specialized affordable lending programs. NCCHC also operates as a Residential Mortgage Brokerage, offering a variety of mortgage products tailored to diverse borrower needs. Team members collaborate closely with community partners to expand access to housing opportunities and provide education and guidance to prospective and current homeowners. Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a remote, off-site role fully based in NC. This role is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, guiding borrowers through the application process, and advising clients on appropriate loan products that align with their financial goals. Day-to-day activities include meeting with clients, collecting and reviewing financial documentation, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring timely and accurate loan submissions. The Mortgage Loan Officer also provides excellent customer service, maintains compliance with regulatory and investor guidelines, and builds relationships with real estate professionals, housing counselors, and community partners. The role involves tracking pipelines, managing deadlines, and educating clients on loan terms, closing requirements, and homeownership responsibilities. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong experience as Loan Officers with knowledge of borrower qualification, loan origination, and pipeline management. Candidates should possess familiarity with the Mortgage Industry, including regulations, loan products, and secondary market requirements. Candidates should possess skills in Mortgage Lending, including application intake, documentation review, and loan structuring for diverse borrower profiles. Candidates should possess understanding of Underwriting principles, risk assessment, and eligibility criteria to support accurate and compliant loan decisions. Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, including clear communication, client education, and responsiveness to borrower needs. Strong analytical and math skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with loan origination systems and standard office software. Ability to work on-site in Fayetteville, NC, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and manage multiple files and deadlines.
