Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Litigation Attorney position located in St. Augustine, FL. The Litigation Attorney will handle real estate-related litigation matters from inception through resolution, including case assessment, legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery. The role involves representing clients in court hearings and trials, managing depositions, and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts. The attorney will collaborate with colleagues on case strategy, maintain organized case files, and ensure all deadlines and procedural requirements are met. The position also includes participation in settlement negotiations, mediation, and ongoing professional development to stay current on relevant laws and regulations. Qualifications A minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation, preferably in real estate litigation or a related practice area. Strong foundation in law, particularly real estate and civil litigation, with the ability to interpret and apply statutes, case law, and regulations. Experience drafting and arguing motions, including dispositive motions, pre-trial motions, and procedural filings. Background appearing in courts at various levels and managing hearings, conferences, and interactions with judicial staff. Hands-on trial experience, including trial preparation, examination of witnesses, and presentation of evidence. Proficiency in conducting depositions, including preparing outlines, questioning witnesses, and evaluating testimony. Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in the Florida Bar in good standing. Excellent legal writing, analytical, and research skills, with strong attention to detail and organization. Effective communication and client relationship skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly.
