Position: Project Archaeologist Principal Investigator – North Central Texas Location: Richardson, TXJob Id: 4651 # of Openings: 1 Project Archaeologist Principal Investigator – North Central TexasHalff is seeking a Project Archaeologist Principal Investigator (PI) based out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, to join our talented team of cultural resources professionals and manage projects in the north central Texas region. The qualified candidate must meet the Secretary of Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation and professional qualification requirements for Principal Investigator (13 Texas Administrative Code 26.4), have no prior Texas Antiquities Permits in default, hold a master’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology and have a minimum of 5 years of Cultural Resource Management (CRM) experience as a PI in Texas. This position offers an excellent professional development opportunity for someone looking to grow with Halff, with potential for not only business and personal growth, but ownership in the firm.Learn about Halff and our 75th AnniversaryWhat you will do:Supervise on archeological surveys, including those with backhoe trenchingPerform National Register of Historic Places and/or State Antiquities Landmark eligibility evaluations of archeological sites,Report writing and the management of projects from start to finishSplit time between conducting client/agency coordination, archeological surveys, technical writing and managing CRM projects as a PI with minimum supervisionConsult with project sponsors and state/federal regulatory agenciesConduct background research and obtain Antiquities permitsWrite scopes of work and conduct/Manage field workInterpret archeological data and author reportsEngage with existing and potential clients to foster repeat and new business.
