Principal Technical Consultant, Archaeologist

Your expertise will ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulations while supporting large-scale capitalprojects.Youwillinfluencebothprojectdeliveryandbusinessgrowth,helpingERMexpanditsimpactintheculturalresourceconsultingspace.WhatYou’llBring:RequiredGraduatedegreeinAnthropology,Archaeology,orcloselyrelatedfieldofstudy,orequivalentexperience.6-8 years (10ormoreyears preferred)ofrelatedpaidexperience.AbilitytoserveasPrincipalInvestigatorforARPApermits,statepermits,andsimilarregulatoryrequirementsintheGulfregion.SecretaryoftheInterior-qualifiedarchaeologistlistedasaRegisteredProfessionalArchaeologist(RPA).Demonstratedfieldexperienceandprincipal-leveloversightforprojectsintheGulfregion,includingsurvey,testing,and/ordatarecovery.Experienceauthoringorreviewingagency-reviewedtechnicalreports(PhaseI,II,III;NEPAdocumentation;datarecoveryandtreatmentplans).Experienceworkingwithregulatoryagenciesasaconsultantrepresentingclients.Abilitytoworkcollaborativelywitharchaeologistsandmultidisciplinarytechnicalteams.WillingnesstotraveloccasionallytofieldlocationsandclientmeetingswithintheGulfregion.Experiencewithmappingequipmentandapplications(e.g.,totalstation,GPS,ArcGISFieldMaps,Survey123).Driver’sLicenseRequired:Thispositionrequiresavaliddriver'slicenseand/ortheabilitytooperateacompanyvehicleduetothenatureofjobduties,whichincludefrequenttraveltovariousclientlocationsacrossalargegeographicalarea.PreferredFamiliaritywithNEPAandregulatoryprocessesatfederal,state,andmunicipallevelsintheGulfregion.ExperienceparticipatingdirectlyinSHPOandTribalconsultations.Demonstratedsuccessinbusinessdevelopmentandclientrelationshipmanagementwithintheculturalresourcessector.Key Responsibilities: ServeasPrincipalInvestigatorforprivatelandsurveysaswellasfederalandotherpubliclands.Providetechnical-levelqualityassurance/qualitycontrolofdeliverablespreparedbyotherqualifiedarchaeologists.Oversee a team of archaeologists leadingdesktopstudiesandfieldinvestigations,includingreconnaissance-andpedestrian-levelsurveys,testing/excavations,andconstructionmonitoring.Leadandmanagetheperformanceofmid-tojunior-levelarchaeologists,includinghiring,mentorship,andengagementacrossthebroaderculturalresourcesteam.Serveasprimaryauthorortaskmanagerforculturalresourcestechnicalstudies,ensuringprojectsmeetscope,budget,schedule,andqualityexpectations.Supportprojectsrangingfrommulti-statelineardevelopmentstolocalizedinitiatives.ExpandERM’sculturalresourcesmarketpresencethroughstrongtechnicaldeliveryandbusinessdevelopment.Buildandmaintainrelationshipswithclients,managingpartners,andkeystakeholderstodriverevenuegrowth.Collaboratewithmultidisciplinaryteamsincludingenvironmentalplanners,biologists,wetlandspecialists,GISprofessionals,andengineers.RepresentERMinengagementswithclients,subcontractors,stakeholders,andregulatoryagencies.Identifysubcontractorneedsandmanagetheirperformanceanddeliverables.Who We Are:As the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy, we partner with the world’s leading organizations, creating innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and unlocking commercial opportunities that meet the needs of today while preserving opportunity for future generations.At ERM we know that creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment is an essential part of making our company a great place to build a career.
