Workers Compensation Defense Attorney

Handle workers' compensation defense matters throughout California and will have the opportunity to take ownership of cases, interact directly with clients, and handle a variety of litigation responsibilities Independently manage a workers' compensation defense caseload with minimal supervision Represent clients in workers' compensation matters before the WCAB Prepare for and conduct depositions, including cross-examinations Conduct witness interviews and develop case strategies Handle hearings, appearances, and law and motion matters Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents Conduct legal research and analyze workers' compensation issues Communicate regularly with clients and provide timely case updates Maintain responsive and professional client relationships Deliver consistently high-quality legal work while meeting case deadlines Key Responsibilities Handle workers' compensation defense matters throughout California and will have the opportunity to take ownership of cases, interact directly with clients, and handle a variety of litigation responsibilities Independently manage a workers' compensation defense caseload with minimal supervision Represent clients in workers' compensation matters before the WCAB Prepare for and conduct depositions, including cross-examinations Conduct witness interviews and develop case strategies Handle hearings, appearances, and law and motion matters Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents Conduct legal research and analyze workers' compensation issues Communicate regularly with clients and provide timely case updates Maintain responsive and professional client relationships Deliver consistently high-quality legal work while meeting case deadlines Qualifications Active California Bar license and good standing with the California State Bar required At least 1 year of workers' compensation defense experience preferred Experience managing a caseload with minimal supervision Strong deposition and advocacy skills Experience appearing at hearings and handling law and motion practice Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Self-motivated and able to work independently Strong commitment to client service and quality of work This position is ideal for a self-motivated and organized attorney who can independently manage a caseload while maintaining a strong commitment to client service and high-quality legal work. Attorneys without traditional workers' compensation experience may be considered if they can demonstrate strong transferable litigation skills and the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
