Job Description When a Soldier has a question about benefits, policy, or needs help with a sensitive issue, the Army National Guard’s Human Resources Specialist is the primary go-to person. As an HR Specialist, you will help Soldiers develop their Guard careers and provide personnel support and assistance to all divisions within the Guard. Responsibilities Organize, maintain, and review personnel records; data entry and retrieval. Process recommendations and arrange awards ceremonies. Prepare, update, and coordinate requests for evaluations. Manage Soldier requests for ID cards, tags, leaves of absence, and passes. Order and maintain office supplies; maintain filing systems. Assist on all human resource support matters. Oversee strength management and strength distribution actions. Ensure readiness, health, and welfare of all Soldiers. Provide postal and personnel accountability support. Maintain emergency notification data. Helpful Skills Aptitude for business administration. Ability to follow detailed orders. Sound people skills. Training and Compensation Receive paid training and a regular paycheck while qualifying for tuition assistance. Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, covering basic Soldiering skills, typing, Army correspondence, form preparation, personnel record management, and computer update and retrieval procedures.
