Senior Scientist I, Product and Process Dev - belVita R-165295 | East Hanover, New Jersey, United States Working as part of a diverse cross‑functional team, you will lead RDQ activities to support belVita’s growth strategy. How you will contribute Plan, lead, and coordinate technical projects in line with RDQ, marketing, and manufacturing requirements. Generate process information using modeling and simulation, pilot plant scale‑up, and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP. Drive innovation pipeline activities – formulation, lead‑process design, specifications, scale‑up and commissioning. Represent RDQ with marketing, operations, and quality leads; influence decisions based on data analysis and interpretation. Create and maintain accurate consumer‑centric specifications and develop intellectual property to protect Mondelēz International’s competitive advantage. What you will bring Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for the brand based on business priorities and consumer needs. Plan and execute robust approaches to fulfill identified needs. Provide technical input to project teams and act as a link to the internal and external technical community. Design experiments, analyze results, and translate findings into actionable recommendations with minimal guidance. Understand functional characteristics of ingredients, formulations, and process, and their impact on finished product quality. Manage a wide agenda of priorities with strong time‑management and organization skills. Understand the commercialization process and execute it with agility. Assess risks and develop mitigation plans based on probability and impact. Education / Certifications BS in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, or related field. Job specific requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the food industry. Strong technical foundation and curiosity; knowledge of biscuit formulation/processes is a plus. Ability to develop and drive technical projects with scientific rigor: conduct testing, analyze data, and develop recommendations. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, and manage complexity. Participate in cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues. Write process specifications that deliver consistent, high‑quality products across manufacturing facilities. Excellent written and oral communication skills (English required, Spanish a plus). Travel requirements: 25-30% travel primarily in the US, with potential domestic or international locations. Work schedule: Hybrid – 3 days work from office. Salary and Benefits The base salary range is $86,900 to $119,515. Eligibility for a competitive bonus program is included.
