Job Title

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / IMC / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a progressive care/medical intermediate unit with an average census of 25–30 patients across 35 beds
• Manage and monitor patients presenting with chest pain, R/O MI, CHF, PE, GI bleed, COPD, respiratory failure, diabetes, and acute/chronic renal failure
• Titrate vasoactive drips including Nitroglycerin, Cardene, and Cardizem as directed
• Assist with or support procedures including chest tube insertion, central line insertion, HD tunneled catheter insertion, and thoracentesis
• Float to other units as needed, including ED, Med-Surg, and ICU
• Adhere to unit dress code: black scrubs, white scrubs, or a combination of both

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS – Basic Life Support Certification (AHA Healthcare Provider)
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification
• IV Insertion competency
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
• Familiarity with progressive care or medical intermediate unit patient populations, including cardiac and stroke diagnoses
• Experience titrating vasoactive medications in a monitored care setting
