Lancaster, Schnautz & White LLP is a growing, reputable CPA firm based in Evansville, Indiana. As our client base expands, we are seeking an experienced CPA to serve in a key leadership and quality-control role within our firm.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys reviewing and improving the work of others, developing staff, solving complex accounting and tax issues, and building strong relationships with clients.

The CPA will be responsible for reviewing tax returns and financial reports before they are delivered to clients, overseeing bookkeeping staff, maintaining the firm's quality standards, and working directly with clients through meetings, phone calls, and ongoing advisory relationships.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and review of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
• Supervise, mentor, and train tax staff; manage workflow and deadlines
• Conduct tax research and stay current with relevant federal, state, and local tax laws
• Advise clients on tax planning strategies and compliance issues
• Review and enhance internal tax processes for efficiency and accuracy
• Handle complex tax matters and resolve client tax issues
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all client financial information
• Foster strong client relationships through excellent communication and service

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Required)
• Licensed CPA (Preferred)
• 3+ years of tax preparation and review experience (Individual, Corporate, and Partnership)
• Experience using UltraTax software (Preferred)
• Prior public accounting experience (Preferred)
• Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Exceptional customer service orientation
• High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive client information

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in QuickBooks Online, UltraTax and Excel.
• Proven track record of managing, mentoring, or training accounting personnel.
