The Opportunity EARTHDAY.ORG is seeking a Vice President of Development to build on one of the most recognized platforms in the environmental movement and translate decades of global impact into a scalable fundraising strategy for the future. Reporting to the President, the VP of Development will lead all development efforts, creating and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy spanning individual donors, foundations, corporations, sponsorships, and digital fundraising. This leader will strengthen EDO’s fundraising infrastructure, expand strategic partnerships, cultivate transformational gifts, and position the organization for continued growth. Working closely with the President, Board of Directors, and Senior Leadership Team, the VP will connect ambitious environmental initiatives with compelling funding opportunities. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational priorities Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities to diversify and grow funding sources Present fundraising updates to the Board and collaborate with the Board fundraising committee Build systems and processes that support long-term fundraising growth Donor & Partner Development Cultivate and steward relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, corporations, and strategic partners Secure transformational gifts and grants, including opportunities at the $1M+ level Develop compelling cases for support that connect donor interests with measurable impact Expand EDO’s network across the environmental and philanthropic landscape Lead and mentor the Development team, building the structure and capabilities needed for growth Partner with finance, communications, and program teams to align fundraising strategy and messaging Oversee grant development, reporting, prospect management, and donor engagement systems Optimize development operations, including pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue modeling Leverage data and technology to improve fundraising effectiveness Ensure strong coordination across campaigns, programs, and communications efforts Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be a strategic and entrepreneurial fundraising leader with a proven ability to build relationships, secure significant philanthropic investments, and lead high-performing teams.
