About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Communications to serve as the operational leader of its communications function. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating communications strategies into high-quality execution that advances the company's mission and enhances the visibility of the community development financial institution (CDFI) industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, combining expertise in communications technology, workflow management, executive communications, media relations, and digital communications. The VP will oversee communications operations, manage staff and external partners, and lead cross-functional initiatives to ensure that all communications are timely, accurate, and aligned with organizational priorities. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 5-7 years' in communications, including a strong background in media relations and executive communications. Experience within or knowledge of the CDFI industry is essential. The role demands a proactive, independent, and adaptable individual who is a collaborative team player and values relationship-building with diverse stakeholders. The VP will also be responsible for managing the company's communications technology ecosystem, producing content across various platforms, and analyzing performance metrics to inform future strategies. The ideal candidate will be a mission-driven professional with a passion for advancing equity through community finance and a proven track record of supporting executive and crisis communications.
