The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Wayland that are seeking skilled First Article Inspectors. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed dimensional inspections of first article parts against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Utilize a wide range of precision measuring tools, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Document and report inspection results accurately, identifying any non-conformances.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Review and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing process plans.
• Maintain inspection equipment through regular calibration and functional checks.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection processes and quality control.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• 3+ years experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
• Strong understanding of First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9102 or similar industry standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM or other automated inspection equipment.
• ASQ certifications (e.g., CQI, CQT).
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
• Proficiency in using statistical process control (SPC) software.
• Experience with various metrology tools (e.g., optical comparators, micrometers, calipers).
