About First Physicians

First Physicians is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support our accounting and administrative operations across our three clinic locations in Odessa, Texas. The ideal candidate is dependable, accurate, and comfortable handling financial records and routine accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Assist with daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks. Process invoices, payments, and expense reports. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reconcile financial records, statements, and transactions. Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting systems and spreadsheets. Assist with tracking expenses, preparing reports, and maintaining organized financial documentation. Review transactions for accuracy and identify discrepancies for resolution. Place orders for office and medical supplies as needed, ensuring purchases are cost-effective and within established budgets. Monitor supply needs across all three clinic locations and coordinate orders to avoid shortages and unnecessary spending. Compare pricing and vendors when appropriate to identify cost-saving opportunities. Communicate with clinic staff and management regarding invoices, payments, supply orders, and financial records. Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and business information. Provide general administrative support to the accounting department as needed. Assist with payroll processing, including reviewing timesheets, verifying employee hours, and maintaining accurate payroll records

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting coursework or a degree is preferred. Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounts receivable is preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial documentation. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Experience in a healthcare or medical office setting is a plus, not required.

Work Location This position supports First Physicians' three clinic locations in Odessa, Texas.
