Legal Assistant (Chicago)

Pay: $50,000-$60,000K

Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide essential legal and administrative support in a high-volume property tax law firm. This is a hybrid position based in Chicago. The ideal candidate will be organized, able to manage multiple priorities efficiently, and maintain a professional demeanor. This role focuses on document preparation, data entry and management, and client communication.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the client intake process, including preparing and processing engagement documents.
• Assist with drafting, reviewing, and preparing legal documents and correspondence.
• Maintain accurate and organized client records, case files, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and in a timely manner while adhering to firm procedures.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to support case management and client service.
• Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned.

 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years of office experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and external parties.
• Some legal experience is helpful but not required, as training will be provided.
