Nurse Practitioner

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will provide psychiatric care to individuals receiving services with a broad range of physical, mental, behavioral, and social conditions at LifePath Systems. The APRN will work under supervision and delegation of the Medical Director with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment within their scope of practice. The APRN may consult with other specialists for specialized conditions or for counseling and may provide backup services to other Medical Staff. The APRN will perform complex psychiatric clinical work in a culturally competent, trauma-informed, person-centered method empowering individuals to guide treatment. The complex psychiatric clinical work includes evaluation of individuals, evaluation and management services, and coordination of care with other workforce members within LifePath Systems continuum of treatment programs. The ARPN will complete culturally and linguistically appropriate, trauma-informed, person-centered assessments and recovery plan to determine the diagnosis and, if applicable, prescribing of psychotropic medications. This position is responsible for ensuring proper laboratory tests and screenings are ordered and evaluating all results prior to prescribing and/or renewing psychotropic medications. This position will participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings regarding referrals, death reviews, and assistance in developing the person-centered recovery plan. The APRN will ensure that all clinical practices are completed in accordance with their scope of practice as recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing. Additionally Performs psychiatric evaluation of all new individuals presenting for services to include review of present and past mental health symptoms and associated treatments, history of medical conditions, history of and current substance use/abuse, relevant familial history, current mental status, and formulation of a diagnosis consistent with person centered, trauma informed care. Performs psychiatric evaluation and management services of individuals with SMI including mental status and psychotropic medication needs and/or response to prescribed medications consistent with person centered, trauma informed care. Proper documentation of direct service time. Ensures accuracy and completeness of billed services. Qualifications Education, Training, & Experience (including licensure & certification) Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner that is in good standing. Physician Assistant must have five (5) years of psychiatric related work. Must have a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of best practices in diagnosing, treating, and evaluating progress of individuals with serious mental illness (SMI). Ability and skill in collaborating with individuals with special clinical needs. Ability to collaborate and problem solve within a cross functional environment. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and person-centered recovery. Clear, trauma-informed communication skills, both oral and written. Knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multicultural and diverse situations. Knowledge of the social services system and the ability to connect individuals with appropriate care. Ability to inspire an environment that provides compassionate care to individuals with SMI while maintaining confidentiality, respect, and dignity of everyone irrespective of their cultural background and severity of psychopathology. Knowledge of and strong sills, including Microsoft Office Suite or similar software; and Ability to accurately and concisely document information using an electronic health record (EHR). #J-18808-Ljbffr LifePath Systems
