Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead the planning, design, delivery and technical oversight of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will suit a technically strong professional who can manage projects from initial feasibility and concept development through detailed design, construction support and commissioning. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and regulatory stakeholders to deliver practical, sustainable and cost-effective solutions.


Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and design documentation for water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping, pipelines, storage, drainage and associated infrastructure. You will provide technical leadership on projects, coordinate engineering inputs across disciplines, review designs for quality and compliance, and identify and manage technical risks. The role will also involve contributing to project scopes, budgets and programmes, supporting tenders and procurement activities, attending site inspections and resolving construction-related technical issues. You will be expected to mentor junior engineers, promote consistent engineering standards and contribute to continuous improvement across project delivery.


Applicants should hold a degree in civil, environmental, water resources or a closely related engineering discipline, with substantial professional experience in the water and/or wastewater sector. Professional registration or chartered status, where applicable, is highly desirable. You will have strong knowledge of relevant design standards, regulations, health and safety requirements and industry practices, together with experience using engineering design and modelling software. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and report-writing skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A proactive approach, commercial awareness and a commitment to technical excellence and sustainable outcomes will be valued.
