Senior Tax Accountant Direct Hire 100% Onsite Upland Salary: 72,000 - 102,000 - DOE CPA OR Enrolled Agent - REQUIRED Heavy Client facing - REQUIRED Tax forms to know below - REQUIRED Individual income tax returns (Form 1040) LLC taxation S Corporation taxation (Form 1120‑S) Partnerships (Form 1065) Multi‑state tax issues Position Summary The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for reviewing tax returns, advising clients on tax matters, supervising junior staff, and serving as a trusted point of contact for individual and small business clients. This role requires extensive experience with individual taxation, LLCs, and S corporations, along with the ability to clearly communicate tax results and planning opportunities to clients. Key Responsibilities Tax Review & Compliance Review and approve individual, partnership, LLC, and S corporation tax returns prepared by junior accountants. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Identify tax‑saving opportunities and planning strategies for clients. Research and resolve complex tax issues and questions. Client Service & Communication Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients. Respond promptly and professionally to client emails, phone calls, and inquiries. Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional customer service. Explain tax return results, tax liabilities, refunds, and planning recommendations in a clear and understandable manner. Conduct client meetings to review tax returns and discuss financial and tax planning opportunities. Team Leadership Mentor and support junior accountants and tax preparers. Provide technical guidance and training on tax preparation and compliance matters. Review workpapers and ensure firm quality standards are maintained. Assist with tax workflow management and deadline tracking. Business Advisory Services Advise small business owners on tax implications and planning strategies. Assist clients with entity selection, compliance, and ongoing tax matters. Provide guidance related to LLC and S Corporation operations and taxation.
