Risk Engineering Consultant

Zurich is seeking a Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer. This position will be located in Upstate NY and will require travel into the region. This is a field role with approximately 25% overnight travel. It is a work-from-home role and includes a company car. Responsibilities Providing jurisdictional inspections and machinery breakdown risk assessment services for customers and business partners. Providing intermediate machinery breakdown consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and hazard/machinery breakdown management programs. Providing basic level training for customers, service design and coordination, marketing, and loss investigations. Final candidates will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle record background check, because this position includes a company car. Basic Qualifications Risk Engineering Representative Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering and Safety area High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering and Safety area Risk Engineering Consultant Bachelor’s Degree and 3 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering area High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering area Preferred Qualifications Knowledge within the boiler and machinery industry segment Relevant experience in the assessment of risk, based on what is required by Machinery Breakdown specific competency standards National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission Card Navy Nuclear School Insurance industry experience Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word) Strong communication and organization skills Experience working in a team environment Compensation and Benefits Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The combined salary range for this position is $72,500.00 - $135,500.00. The proposed salary range for the Risk Engineering Representative is $72,500.00 - $118,700.00, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed salary range for the Risk Engineering Consultant is $83,400.00 - $135,500.00, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
