Sr. Tax AnalystStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Department: Finance/AccountingPosition SummaryThe Senior Tax Analyst will primarily be responsible for supporting the tax compliance and tax accounting process at Plug. This individual is expected to work independently and be able to recognize tax issues and recommend solutions. Additionally, they must possess strong communication skills and a professional demeanor. The position reports to the Director of Tax.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport preparation and review of annual property tax renditions, including analysis of assessment notices and tax bills to ensure timely filings and paymentsProvide sales and use tax support including completion of exemption certificates, monthly filings and tax paymentsReview and respond to federal state, and local tax notices; coordinate directly with taxing authorities and external consultants to resolve issuesSupport property, sales and use, and income tax audits, including managing information requests and interacting with tax authorities to meet deadlinesResearch property and sales tax matters, summarize research and determine proper tax treatment for specific transactionsAssist with federal and state corporate income/franchise tax compliance, including compiling data and information needed for completion of annual federal and state income/franchise tax estimates, extensions and returnsProvide cross-functional support on indirect and specialty taxes, including GST/HST, gross receipts, fuel, withholding, and excise taxesSupport quarterly and year-end income tax provision reporting in the audited financial statements (Forms 10Q and 10K)Evaluate eligibility for federal and state tax credits/incentives and assist with assessment of financial impactAssist with tax due diligence and data gathering needed related to mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing and other international tax mattersIdentify opportunities to improve and automate tax compliance processes using Excel and other technology toolsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field. Master’s degree a plus.3-6+ (Three to Six plus) years relevant experience tax experience.Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environmentExceptional data analysis and presentation skillsAbility to think logical and critically to measure the pros and cons and take the most appropriate decisions from the available resourcesAbility to work effectively in both a self-directed and team environmentAbility to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlinesDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiencesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficient computer skills including Microsoft Office softwareMust be highly driven and motivated to achievePay Rate:$69,900.00 - $104,900.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
