As Finance Director, you will have a highly visible position partnering directly with the Executive Director and Board Finance Committee. Genuine opportunities for professional growth while making a meaningful community impact. Key Functions Lead and improve accounting systems, financial policies and procedures. Prepare financial statements, analysis, budgets and forecasts. Coordinate external audits and oversee audit preparation. Partner with the Executive Director and Board Finance Committee on financial strategy. Lead and develop a finance and accounting team of four. Oversee budgets, grant funding, contracts and financial reporting. Monitor cash flow, income and expenses and provide actionable financial insight. Oversee A/R, A/P, payroll, securities and other major accounting operations. Support purchasing, inventory and related financial activities. Help develop new revenue opportunities and long-range financial plans. What We're Looking For The ideal Finance Director will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and approximately 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a nonprofit environment. Experience with Illinois and City of Chicago grants, budgeting and funding contracts is highly desirable. CPA or MBA credentials are a plus but not required. Strong Excel/Google Sheets and QuickBooks experience are preferred.
