Outside Parts Sales Representative

Job Summary Whiteford Kenworth is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Outside Parts Sales Representative to develop new business, grow existing accounts, and serve as a trusted partner to customers within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for promoting and selling OEM and replacement parts for heavy-duty trucks and trailers while building strong customer relationships and delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong sales and communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to identify opportunities that drive growth. Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively pursuing new business opportunities within an assigned territory Regularly visit customer locations to identify parts needs, provide solutions, and promote products and services Increase sales and market share through effective territory management and business development activities Prepare quotes, follow up on opportunities, and close sales to achieve established revenue goals Collaborate with Parts Department personnel to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction Serve as a knowledgeable resource by educating customers on product features, availability, and benefits Monitor market conditions, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and account information Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining positive customer relationships Uphold company standards for customer service, professionalism, appearance, and business practices at customer locations, industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and work environment Ability to maintain regular attendance and work scheduled hours necessary to meet customer and business needs Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid Group Life and AD&D insurance Short-term disability, life insurance, and other voluntary benefit options 401(k) with company match Annual paid time off (PTO) Safety boot reimbursement Company-provided vehicle Professional work environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork Family-oriented culture built on collaboration, respect, and pride in workmanship Qualifications Minimum of two years of outside sales, account management, or related customer-facing experience required Proven ability to build relationships, generate new business, and achieve sales goals Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities Proficient computer skills and experience using business software applications Basic mathematical aptitude for pricing, quoting, and sales calculations Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurability requirements Commercial truck, heavy-duty parts, transportation, fleet, or dealership experience preferred but not required Knowledge of PACCAR products and truck parts is preferred Physical Requirements Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate computers, mobile devices, vehicles, and office equipment Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time while traveling throughout an assigned sales territory Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 60 pounds regularly and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment Ability to enter and navigate customer facilities, service shops, and warehouses, including climbing stairs when necessary Must possess sufficient visual acuity to read computer screens, pricing information, parts catalogs, and customer documentation Must possess sufficient hearing and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, and vendors in person and by telephone Ability to work in office, warehouse, and outdoor environments with occasional exposure to noise, dust, dirt, grease, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions About Us Since 1929, Whiteford Kenworth has proudly supported customers across the transportation industry with trusted solutions and dependable service.
