A mid-sized hospital in New York City is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide vital pharmaceutical services during night shifts on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for a hospital pharmacist ready to start immediately and contribute their expertise in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Location: Flushing, NY
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule/Hours: Night shifts
Responsibilities include:
- Order verification to ensure accurate, timely medication dispensing
- Supervising pharmacy technicians and supporting their workflow
- Managing pharmacokinetics for appropriate dosing and patient safety
- Consulting with physicians and nurses on medication management and clinical decisions
- Utilizing healthcare technology including EPIC and Pyxis systems for streamlined operations
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist in New York State with current credentials
- Hospital pharmacy experience is essential
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records is highly valued
- Strong ability to work night shifts and adapt to hospital demands
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
