Room Attendant/Houseperson - The Inn at Villanova University Position Summary: The Room Attendant/Houseperson performs duties in guest rooms, public spaces, and meeting rooms following the inn's standards and AAA 4‑diamond guidelines. The role requires maintaining cleanliness, preparing rooms for guests, and ensuring all areas are ready for use at all times. The position involves working nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands. Responsibilities Clean guest rooms consistently according to inn and AAA 4‑diamond standards. Maintain public spaces, rest rooms, and meeting rooms; clean, refresh, and keep them ready for use. Ensure meeting rooms are organized, report issues to management promptly. Break down room arrangements in accordance with event schedules. Greet and assist guests courteously and professionally. Enforce university and inn policies and procedures. Follow established quality standards and assurance programs. Understand and execute emergency procedures. Work under moderate supervision, organizing and carrying out assignments independently when needed. Maintain a high level of morale and cooperation. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow strict cleaning expectations, including room, public area, and meeting room cleaning and staging. Understanding of recycling, laundry, and chemical usage. 2–3 years of experience in the hospitality/custodial industry. Effective communication with clients, senior management, and support staff. Team‑oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills and a professional image. Preferred Qualifications Experience with approved cleaning chemicals. Experience in a normal hotel/conference center environment with occasional stressful periods. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special event periods.
