Practice Administrator

Responsibilities Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with established company policies and procedures (interviews, hiring, training, guidance, directing work, maintaining attendance records, appraising performance, disciplinary action, recommending termination). Promote practice development by establishing relationships with referring physician offices, networking, and participating in appropriate business, charitable, and other local organizations. Assume responsibility for day‑to‑day facilities issues. Maintain all physician records and ensure compliance with licensing requirements. Prepare documentation for physician hospital credentialing. Coordinate managed care credentialing. Keep abreast of new or changing regulations regarding PPOs, HMOs, Medicare, and other contracted plans, and communicate information to all staff members. Coordinate collection of patient balances and assist centralized billing and collection departments in obtaining documentation for insurance collections. Prepare monthly and quarterly quality assurance reports for code capture accuracy and completeness, in an accurate and timely manner. Review charges and cash receipts for variations and patterns. Conduct spot audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Communicate with hospital billing departments. Provide or obtain coverage for absences. Perform additional management and administrative duties as needed. Qualifications Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to use various computer systems and applications. Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and problem‑solving techniques in the decision‑making process. Education and Experience 5+ years’ experience in medical office management, including staff supervision; Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related discipline strongly preferred.
